Mr. Isaacs
Highlands Elementary School
5th & 6th Grade - Mathematics/Science

My name is Alex Isaacs and I am the 5th and 6th grade mathematics and science teacher at Highlands Elementary School. For the past three years, I was a 5th grade teacher in the Long Branch and Freehold Township school districts. In 2007, I received my Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Monmouth University. After two years in New York City, I realized I wanted to do something I was more passionate about. I then returned to Monmouth University in order to earn my Master's of Arts Degree in Education so that I could become a full-time teacher. More recently, I gained my Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in Middle School Mathematics.

I am so excited to be a part of the Highlands Elementary School staff, and cannot wait to continue this memorable year in 2018. Two major themes I will continue to promote this year are "Strive for Five" and "Dream it. Believe it. Achieve it!" These relate to maintaining high standards for attendance, punctuality, goal-setting and achievement. It is my hope that all students embrace these ideas on a daily basis as they push themselves to be at their best.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running on the boardwalk, golfing and being with my friends and loved ones. I am looking forward to a wonderful second half of the school year with all of my 5th and 6th grade students, and their families. Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at the email address and/or phone number listed at the bottom of this page, or complete the form under the "Contact Me" link.

For 2018, I will be strictly enforcing the Three R's with my 5th and 6th grade classes. The students will be Ready, Responsible, and Respectful on a daily basis. With the new year beginning, this is an excellent opportunity for learners to put their best foot forward while displaying positive qualities in and out of the classroom. Finally, expectations will continue to be high as we are now nearing the end of the school year.
